- ½ cup Warm Almond Milk
- 3 tsp Brown Sugar
- 2 tbsp Vegetable Shortening
- 3 cups All-Purpose Flour plus a little for dusting

- In a medium mixing bowl, add water, then sprinkle in yeast, and let stand for 5 minutes or until bubbly
- Add almond milk, brown sugar, and shortening. Mix well
- Fold in flour and salt
- Knead dough for 8 minutes then place in a well-oiled bowl
- Let the dough rise for at least one hour *dough should double in size*
- On a floured surface roll dough out to half an inch
- Using a round biscuit or cookie cutter, cut out circles until no dough remains
- Let cut dough rise for half an hour
- Heat a lightly greased pan or griddle to medium-high heat
