Tropical Buttered Rum


We hope you’re having a good new year so far. Here at Smartfruit we’re always trying to innovate new recipes. However, this time we’ll be using an old fashion Cocktail Mix Tropical Buttered Rum recipe that’s worth cheering with; plus, we just made it vegan. This blend tastes just like a Caribbean vacation. So, pull up your beach chair, put your feet up and enjoy this harmonious mixture of tropical fruits. Each Cocktail Mix Tropical Buttered Rum is loaded with tropical fruits like Papaya, Guava, Passion fruit and pineapple. This experience along will wow your taste buds with a sweet and tangy full-bodied flavor. Lastly, We coupled our Cocktail Mix Tropical Buttered Rum with tropical blend with Aloe Vera to help aid with digestion, hydrate and boost your immune system.

📝 Ingredients:

  • ⅔ cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • ½ cup (1 stick) Unsalted Vegan Butter
  • ¼ cup Smartfruit Tropical Harmony
  • ½ tsp Ground Cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp Ground Nutmeg
  •  ⅛ tsp Ground Cloves
  • 1 Pinch Sea Salt
  • ¾ cup Spiced Rum
  • 2 cups Boiling Water
  • 4 Cinnamon Sticks (for garnish)

🍶 Preparation:

  1. Using an electric mixer, beat the brown sugar, butter, Smartfruit, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves, and salt in a medium bowl until blended and smooth. 
  2. Transfer the mixture to a 4-cup (or larger) measuring cup. Add the rum and then 2 cups of boiling water. Stir until the butter mixture dissolves. 
  3. Divide the buttered rum among 4 mugs. Garnish with the cinnamon sticks and serve.

Notes: For a non-vegan recipe use regular butter at room temp. For vegan butter we’ve used earth balance.  Boiling water can be substituted with plant-based milk.
