Homemade Apple Mango Cider

Homemade Apple Mango Cider

 Homemade Apple-Mango Cider

A delicious hot drink on a cold winter day that warms you up and fills your house with the smell of the holidays. This Apple-Mango cider is not only a soothing drink but offers a boost of immunity with Smartfruit Mellow Mango smoothie mix.

This cider is infused with wholesome ingredients yet made simply right at home.

📝 Apple-Mango Cider Ingredients:

1 Orange
4-6 oz Smartfruit Mellow Mango
10 Medium apples (we used Honeycrisp and Granny Smith)
3 Cinnamon Sticks (or 1 Tbsp Ground Cinnamon)
2 Tsp Ground cloves.

 🍶 Preparation:

1. Peel the orange and place the segments in the slow cooker (or stock pot). (Pictures show unpeeled- I prefer peeling it. Less bitter.) Wash the apples, cut into quarters, and place in a Slow Cooker (or a stock pot). Add the cinnamon sticks, ground cloves, and Smartfruit Mellow Mango. Then add enough water to cover the fruit.

2. Cook on low heat for 6-7 hours. (Or high heat for 3)

3. The fruit will be very soft when ready. Use a large spoon to mash the fruit and release its liquids. Allow the cider to cook on low for an additional hour.

4. Very slowly strain the chunky liquid though a fine Mesh Sieve into a large pot or pitcher. You can discard the solids. Strain the cider one more time to rid any other solids. Serve the cider warm. Leftover cider keeps well in the refrigerator for up to 7 days. Warm up on the stove before serving-- or drink it cold!

(By the way - Cider can be frozen for up to 3 months. Just thaw in the refrigerator)
