A few words about the health benefits associated with each fruit.

Acai Berries:
The Acai (ah-sigh-EE) berry is a grapelike fruit harvested from acai palm trees, which are native to the rainforests of South America. They have a dark purple skin and yellow flesh surrounding a large seed.  Acai berries are widely touted as a so-called superfood, with proponents claiming that they are helpful for a variety of health concerns, including arthritis, weight loss, high cholesterol, erectile dysfunction, skin appearance, detoxification and general health.

Acai berries contain healthy fats, fiber and low amounts of sugar, as well as many trace minerals and plant compounds, including anthocyanins. The antioxidant content of foods is typically measured by an Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity (ORAC) score. In the case of acai, 100 grams of frozen pulp has an ORAC of 15,405, whereas the same amount of blueberries has a score of 4,669.

Goji Berries
Goji berries have been used in traditional Chinese medicine for over 2,000 years. Some legends report that goji berries were eaten by monks in the Himalayan Mountains thousands of years ago and steeped in hot water to help aid meditation and obtain greater health, vitality, longevity, energy and stamina.

Goji Berries are loaded with Antioxidants (ORAC of 4310), they contains 18 Amino Acids, (six times higher than bee pollen) more Beta Carotene than carrots, and more Iron than spinach, 21 Trace Minerals, and 500 times more Vitamin C by weight than oranges! The 13 % protein in the Goji Berry is higher than whole wheat, and displays insulin like action that is affective in fat decomposition. Goji Berries are loaded with many other vitamins and minerals including Calcium, Magnesium, Vitamins B’s & E. Goji Berries may promote weight loss, improve general metabolism, vision and cancer prevention as well as regulate hypertension.

Pomegranate
Pomegranate seeds get their vibrant red hue from polyphenols. These chemicals are powerful antioxidants. Pomegranate juice contains three times more antioxidants than red wine and green tea!

Pomegranate juice recently made a splash when researchers found that it may help stop the growth of prostate cancer cells. It is also a powerful anti-inflammatory because of its high concentration of antioxidants , thereby improves digestion. Pomegranate juice is in the running as the most heart-healthy juice. It appears to protect the heart and arteries and may also help lower systolic blood pressure. In addition to vitamin C and vitamin E, pomegranate juice is a good source of folate, potassium, and vitamin K.

Blueberries
Blueberries may be tiny, but each serving packs a serious punch when it comes to nutrition. Often overlooked and overshadowed by more exotic types of berries, blueberries remain one of the most nutritious, antioxidant-rich types of fruit in the world and have been shown to do everything from enhance brain health to keep your heart strong, amp up weight loss, alleviate inflammation, support digestion and help fight cancer. Plus, in addition to the long list of health benefits of blueberries, these fruits are also super sweet, low-calorie and delicious.

Guarana
Guarana (Paullinia Cupana) is a climbing shrub native to the forests of Amazon. Guarana gained popularity when Jesuit missionaries in the Amazon noted that tribesmen who consumed the seed gained so much energy, that it allowed them to hunt for extended periods of time. That’s because Guarana contains twice as much caffeine as coffee beans! For that reason, it has comparable benefits to coffee including: weight management, improved mental focus, antioxidants and antimicrobial effects and improved physical performance.
